Ace Express Freight has future-proofed cross-border freight services by becoming a master licensee for palletised logistics giant Pall-Ex Group.
A long-time member of the Pall-Ex network, the Dublin-based haulier has taken the driving seat in Irish distribution post-Brexit and invested heavily in personnel to provide customers with additional support.
The partnership will deliver an enhanced solution now that changes to exports and imports have been finalised, this will be followed by a formal launch of Pall-Ex Ireland in early 2023.
Ace Express Freight has risen to the challenge of Brexit, maintaining cross-border services throughout the transition.
It has created 25 new jobs as a result of import and export changes, including roles in its administration, customer service, and customs clearance departments, with recruitment ongoing across all areas of the business.
Originally a long-standing Pall-Ex member, Ace covered the Irish postcodes on behalf of the network for over 15 years.
Bernard McSweeney, COO at Ace Express Freight, comments:
“As specialists in freight forwarding and customs clearance for over 30 years, we are ideally positioned for this partnership and to create Pall-Ex Ireland.
“Throughout the Brexit transition period, we have ensured that freight movements on behalf of the network have continued with minimal disruption or delays.
“We have channelled efforts into training staff and proactively communicating with our customers on how to adapt and conform to new international standards.
“Companies like us, who were more prepared, are the winners that have gained market share during the transition and as a Pall-Ex master licensee we will continue to adapt and grow our business.”
Mark Steel, Managing Director for International Business Units at Pall-Ex Group, comments:
“Due to significant custom changes, Pall-Ex requires a permanent solution to ensure continued delivery excellence within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
“As a long-standing and well-respected shareholder member of the Pall-Ex network, Ace Express Freight is the natural choice for this new opportunity.
“The extensive experience of the team at Ace Express Freight has ensured a smooth transition for customers utilising the Pall-Ex Irish Service during Brexit and will guarantee that quality remains at the forefront of these services.”
